Hip Hop Artist

I started rapping at 16 years old as a freestyle battle rapper at House parties. I did that till I was about 20 and I stopped doing it cuz people would punch me in the face cuz they come beat me or I said something too lethal. Then I learned how a rap song was structured I started writing songs after that. Around 23 years old I got in a group from around my area and did a bunch of shows opened up for some big acts. But then my group broke up when I got into a car accident in 2012 where I trusted a fellow rap artist to be my designated driver and he drank the whole night and was drunk and was doing 50 in a 25 mile an hour zone and hit a tree heading on the passenger side. The dashboard came back and shattered my right femur room into 30 pieces my head hit the windshield which caused my brain to bleed and then the top half of my body was partially ejected out the passenger side window and with me hanging out the window the car rolled door over door three times. I suffered my femur bone shattered and 30 pieces, blood on my brain, a fractured hip, neck, ribs, shoulder blade, a broken finger, two lower vertebrates in my back cracked, and I died two times once in the ambulance on the way to the helicopter, and then in the helicopter on the way to the hospital. When I woke up I asked a nurse when will I be able to walk she said chances are Mr. Yosko you're probably never going to walk again and if you do walk you're going to walk with a severe limp. My best devices don't accept what they tell you because if you do that you're going to end up in a wheelchair or exactly like they say you prove them wrong and show them what you could do and never give up. That's why my logo says never give up also because I was nothing but hated on by all the local rappers my family and no support at all. Also never think you're the best because how can you be the best if you haven't reached your full potential yet. I told you I started at 16 years old I'm 41 now that's almost 26 years that's over a quarter of a century and I still try to get better. My mission isn't for money my mission is to bring real hip hop back storytelling inspiring people rapping about what you've been through so they can learn from your mistakes and help people not guns drugs women and violence sure I'm a battle rapper so I get violent usually when I'm talking about the industry. When I was recovering from the car accident and I couldn't walk because of my leg I took two years off of making music and watch YouTube videos on how to build super fans also I moved from Facebook to Instagram so I started Instagram techniques to get popular I studied how to get recognized on Spotify so you never need a record label just never give up stay determined and motivated. Every song I write has a story doesn't matter what style song I have every style but always be authentic and tell a story let people learn something or feel what you've been through or like my song never give up inspires people it's all about what I've been through. And also how to overcome it you got to use the hate to motivate. And my rap name J-Yo stands for my real name J=Joseph Yo=Yosko and the hyphen - separates my 1st and Last name. Everything I do has a meaning or stands for something you'll see that when I write not one word is not telling a story even the letter a is used properly. And you'll notice that all my album artwork resembles the song. That's another thing be important to stand for something and you'll get a lot more people that will want to rock with you. May I have the worst story but guess what I survived so I have a purpose. I'm going to continue to rap until I can't speak no more I'll be 80 years old sitting on my porch rapping. I need it it's my therapy, counseling, and the way I express myself and tell the story of my life, also I now write instead of fight unless I have to. But thank you I'm glad I could share my story I look forward to being on the show.
