Short bio write up

LaJaye’ Britt born in Washington, DC raised in Trenton, NJ in a family of four boys one sister. Found himself indulging in music at a very early age.  Singing was a familiar experience often as a way of family entertainment and evening activities.  Being the son of a preacher singing and staying up late praying and having church services fueled his passion for music.  Later becoming a self taught musician on Drums and Guitar LaJaye’ begin to dominate school talent shows and later forming his own local band. Having such an amazing advantage living and growing up around the likes of Raymond Earl and the band members of Instant Funk, Robert Kool Bell of Kool and the Gang, taking vocal lessons from the late Dr. Mattie Moss Clark during her weekend Conferences and the list goes on he would hone his craft, skills and love for music. LaJaye’ released his first professional solo Single “Put My Thang Down” in 1994 on Delgeo Records/Universal Music which gave him mediocre Success and notable exposure landing him performances on stages such as the Apollo Theatre and opening act for acts such as Boyz II Men, Jagged Edge, Niva, Blaque, Glenn Jones, and many others.  LaJaye’ is also known as his lead role in the hit Stage Play “A Good Man Is Hard To Find” also “When A Woman’s Fed Up” & “Love Under New Management” starring Mikki Howard.  He Has Released Single with the Legendary Lenny Williams “it’s Yours” with Ashling Coles singing BGV’s released on Empire and again on Sony Music his latest single “No Greater Luv” featuring legendary Tony Terry now Re-Distributed by Sony Music Group look for the full CD release “Closure” coming later this year a Sony Music Group Release
