💚 Discussion with Mr. Youssef Kobach born in Pickens, South Carolina, but was raised in Syria. When he was age 9, he moved back to the United States and had to learn English since he only spoke fluent Arabic. It was tough to adjust to the new environment. He was constantly bullied by his classmates because of his Arab and Muslim origin. His challenging life experiences led him to music. He started battle rapping in middle school. Rap music helped strengthen his English speaking and writing abilities. He started listening to Christian rock music and up and coming rappers like B.O.B, Lil Wayne, Kanye, Drake, Eminem. He also listened to old school rap like Biggie, NAS, Rakim, etc. Lil Wayne taught him to be his own superhero, Eminem taught him to be himself, Drake taught him to take care of himself, and B.O.B taught him creativity. Kanye taught me it was okay to be different.
